The Job

  • Determine daily cash flow and deposit requirements for different entities so as to maximize the yield of the liquid fund within approved policies’ guidelines.
  • Execute in-house investment transactions. Direct and supervise a team of 5 staff on daily in-house cash management, ensure that all transactions are processed on time, and proper records are kept for reporting and control purposes.
  • Maintain approximately 30 banking relationships.
  • Maintain working relationship with internal and external business partners (Estate-in-charge, IT, Consultants) to ensure the effectiveness of treasury operation.
  • Assist in development, testing and maintaining the in-house treasury system and external banking system to meet with HS’s changing business and information requirements.
  • Supervise staff in the preparation of routine reports, provide support for the annual budget and audit exercise.
  • Review internal control procedures of treasury operation and assist in the drafting and the maintenance of the treasury procedures manual.
  • Assist in ad hoc assignments.

 

The Person

  • Bachelor degree holder in Finance or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in financial industry, possessing broad understanding of settlement cycles for deposit or cash instruments.
  • High computing literacy, including experience in undertaking UAT for system enhancements. Knowledge of Bloomberg, Excel macros, Access Database and programming skills would be a plus but not critical.
  • Experience in managing small teams, operational compliance monitoring, work flow design and building accretive working relationships with internal & external parties.
  • Have sound knowledge in cash flow management.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality output.
  • Proactive working attitude towards identifying potential operational challenges and related solutions.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.  Strong analytical skills and good interpersonal and presentation skills.
