Assistant General Manager (Corporate & Community Relations)

The Job

  • Promote the Housing Society among target groups in the community, through corporate social responsibility and corporate sustainability initiatives as well as partnership with the industry and community stakeholders.
  • Establish favourable corporate relations with key stakeholders, including government and statutory bodies, LegCo and District Council members, political parties, NGOs and industry partners, to facilitate smooth implementation of projects and policies, while safeguarding the Housing Society’s reputation through effective communication and issues management.
  • Identify and manage risks by staying informed on social and political trends, analyzing potential impacts, and preparing actionable plans to respond to challenges.
  • Handle requests for visits, sponsorships and support in all forms from the community and make appropriate arrangements to maintain favourable community relations in line with corporate image.
  • Oversee the handling of complaints and enquiries referred by community stakeholders and manage requests for sponsorship, donation and collaboration.
  • Facilitate internal branding and staff engagement by being the Chief Editor of the staff newsletter.
  • Lead a team of professional staff and manage external service providers.

 

The Person

  • Degree holder in Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs or related disciplines.
  • At least 12 years’ post-qualification relevant work experience, of which at least 5 years in managerial role.
  • Proven track record of planning and organising corporate events, community programmes, and professional events such as conferences.
  • Extensive experience in handling community issues and public engagement exercises.
  • Working experience in public organisations or handling public affairs projects would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
  • Sensitive to political climate and public affairs, especially housing and sustainability issues.
  • Strategic-minded with creative thinking.
  • Strong in conducting analysis of political and social issues.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Good computer literacy, including PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
  • Able to deliver quality work under tight schedule.

Remark

  • Candidate with less experience will be considered for Senior Manager (Corporate & Community Relations).
