The Job

  • To coordinate a service project funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club to establish a mutual support network for tenants in the transitional housing, connecting cross-sectoral collaborative partners, mobilizing the volunteer teams in rendering community-building activities and managing project milestones and achievements. 
  • To oversee the project's administrative tasks, including financial management and the submission of progress reports, with the position primarily based in Shau Kei Wan.
  • Assist the Community Services Manager in the execution of social support programmes and review the overall operation and administration of the Caring Engaging Smart (CES) Team at respective estate(s) according to the approved business plans and milestones.
  • To coordinate with internal parties for service delivery and district-based collaborative projects.
  • Liaise and partner with external parties in the collaborative projects/services at respective estate(s), including but not limited to district social service operators, social enterprises, health service providers, hospitals, educational institutes and governmental departments.
  • Provide professional counseling and case management for needy tenants, expertise timely referrals to social services and closely liaise with NGOs for subsequent follow-up action to prevent crisis.
  • Assist Community Services Manager to manage the operation of responsible CES Lounge(s) in attaining the designated service outputs and outcomes, and conduct regular home visits and/or telephone concern calls to the needy residents.
  • Supervise and coach the subordinates to assure the quality of service, and the team in effective and efficient manner.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor deems appropriate.

The Person

  • Degree holder or above in Social Work with minimum 5 years’ post qualification working experience in recognized welfare organization of elderly service or community services preferable.
  • With administrative and supervisory experience an advantage.
  • Good connection with various social service providers and district stakeholders, and others as relevant to the operation of the team.
  • Strong team player, mature and able to work independently
  • Motivated with strategic mindset in service development.
  • Good in both English and Chinese with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of MS Windows application, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing.
