The Job

• Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance.
• Provide service desk functions and communicate effectively with users regarding the status of their requests and expected resolution times.
• Schedule and prioritize daily data processing jobs following the established procedures, perform production control activities, coordinate job inputs, outputs and distributions.
• Perform backups of systems, databases, files in all Unix, Linux and Windows servers in Data Centre, ensure all backup tasks complete and report any abnormal period end jobs.
• Ensure that all shift activities, unusual occurrences, and status events are properly logged, investigated, reported, and resolved; gather system statistics and compile regular reports for management review.
• Collaborate with technical terms to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Schedule and perform programs/services release according to the Release Management procedures; coordinate with IT Application team to conduct the testing; report any abnormalities occurred and perform fallback procedures where appropriate.

The Person

• High Diploma or equivalent in Computer Science / Information Technology or rated discipline.
• At least 2 years’ relevant working experience in hotline support and data centre operations.
• Shift duties is required.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and ticketing system is an advantage.
• Good knowledge in operating job scheduler (Control-M), Microsoft Office, computer hardware & software and wireless mobile device  is an advantage.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work independently under pressure.
• Good team player and proactive.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
