The Job

  • Supporting the General Manager (Central Technical Team), reviewing and overseeing the site management team’s performance in the management and monitoring of safety and health aspects of all HKHS Projects
  • Ensuring proper implementation of site safety and health programmes in all HKHS construction projects, and providing advice to the site management team regarding safety-related issues / potential hazards.
  • Preparing in-house site safety training, uplifting site safety standards/guidelines, and promoting site safety culture to push for continuous improvement in consultants’ safety awareness and contractors' safety performance.
  • Arranging suitable safety training for all construction sites, attend site safety meetings, and conduct site safety inspection as necessary to ensure all safety inspection reports/safety notices and corresponding follow-up corrective/preventive actions are carried out effectively.
  • Overall monitoring of all site safety & health issues including liaison and administration of Safety Advisory Consultant and/or Safety Auditors where necessary, and preparing comprehensive work records, monthly safety reports, and advice on all site safety issues for management reporting.
  • Reviewing and procuring suitable Site Safety Supervision System (SSSS) as needed for adoption as the standard digital platform for HKHS development projects.
  • Providing expert input and industry insight on safety elements and collaborating with industry stakeholders to review and recommend best practices and improvement measures to enhance construction safety performance.
  • Exploring innovative safety devices, safety construction methods and technologies for implementation in HKHS development projects to enhance construction safety.

 

The Person

  • Degree or above in Occupational Safety and Health or Construction Engineering or equivalent.
  • Registered Safety Officer (RSO) and Registered Safety Auditor (RSA) are highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of solid experience in construction projects with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
  • Proven record of managing construction works safety; experience in government or institutional projects and large-scale development projects will be an advantage.
  • Conversant with the latest statutory and contractual requirements and understanding of good professional/industrial practices in relation to local safety & health regulations.
  • Recognized training in industrial safety or occupational hygiene would be an added advantage.
  • Effective communication skills and a good team player.
  • Good analytical thinking and reporting skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese.
  • Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Windows.
