The Job

  • Report to the Director (Projects), the General Manager (Construction Management) manages and oversees the construction management team to ensure progress of the construction of development projects are meeting corporate objectives on cost, time, quality, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Supervise a team of managers and assistant managers in performing their duties of coordination of works amongst all project participants and monitoring of their performance to ensure corporate objectives are met.  Ensure the projects are delivered in time, cost and quality targets and timely handover to the receiving divisions.
  • Participate in, initiate and derive value engineering and buildability solutions at different stages of works from design, tendering, construction documentation as well as construction.
  • Integrate with the current construction guidelines, develop a system of construction management and control framework.
  • Align practices amongst different construction management teams to accord with set guidelines and framework.
  • Keep abreast of the latest development of construction industry on modern construction technology solutions in digitalization, Smart Site Safety, BIM, project programming tools and DWSS systems, and bring in improvements to the Division.
  • Ensure effective communication between construction management team, project management and contract management teams to achieve set project goals.

 The Person

  • University degree in Architecture, Engineering, Surveying, Construction Management, or Building disciplines.
  • Member of professional institution of HKIE, HKIA, RICS, HKIS, HKICM or CIOB.
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in project and/or construction management of commercial and residential building development in public and private sectors. 10 years of which must be post qualification and preferably with experience in large scale residential development projects.
  • Strong in construction site management, team building, interpersonal skills and problem-solving mindsets.
  • Sound knowledge of related ordinances as well as technical and professional practices, and well versed with current property market and construction industry developments and practices.
  • Familiar with modern methods in BIM, MiC, MiMEP, smart construction, smart safety, DWSS, project management tools.
