The Job

This senior role involves supporting the Head of Treasury in leading and developing the Financing team, fostering expertise in financing matters, and ensuring compliance with HKHS’s operational policies.

The Financing team is the subject matter expert on financing matters for HKHS. Its day-to-day responsibilities include the implementation of loan operation, counterparty relationship management, operational and financial risk management, best practices identification and adoption, capital market trend monitoring, proposing and executing funding strategies, relationship building with potential counterparties and internal stakeholder management.

Loan Operation

  • Perform and coordinate all aspects of loan operations and disclosures, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with the loan facility agent regarding administrative operations, including the submission of required instructions and certificates.

Counterparty Relationship Management

  • Monitor counterparty relations matters and escalate issues to the Head of Treasury as needed.
  • Formulate and coordinate responses for relevant stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Proactively maintain constructive working relationships with existing financiers to support ongoing funding needs.

Operational and Financial Risk Management

  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with loan operations and lenders’ relations.
  • Recommend effective solutions for risk mitigation.

Best Practices Identification & Adoption

  • Monitor and provide recommendations as necessary to enhance the operational framework aimed at optimizing efficiency in financing operations. This involves ongoing assessment of existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices.

Capital Market Trend Monitoring

  • Keep abreast of market trends and the availability of new financing products to optimize operational efficiency and funding strategies.

Funding Strategies

  • Develop funding strategies based on long-term cash flow projections and evaluate alternative options for financing and / or refinancing.

Relationship Management

  • Engage and develop relationships with financial institutions, credit rating agencies, and other relevant parties related to long-term financing activities.

Internal Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare papers for the Executive Committee and Finance Committee regarding financing matters.
  • Act as secretary to the Finance Committee, ensuring accurate documentation and communication of meeting outcomes.

 

The Person

Education and Qualification/ Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline
  • CFA, FRM and/or accounting qualifications a plus
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the financial industry.
  • Experience with loan financing, and/or setting up and operating Medium Term Note program and syndicated loan will be highly regarded.
  • Skilled in quantitative analysis

Knowledge or Skill Required

  • Conversant with global geopolitics and economic factors that may impact the financing environment.
  • Good knowledge of the capital market and funding arrangements.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office a must.
  • Exhibits strong presentation and communication abilities, particularly in articulating complex concepts and ideas clearly in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
  • Proven team management and influencing skills.
