Senior Manager (Maintenance-Geotechnical)

The Job:

  • Develop and execute scheduled maintenance programmes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of slopes and retaining structures, accurately documenting and reporting on their condition, necessary repairs, and maintenance requirements.
  • Undertake geotechnical studies and assessments of both existing and new slopes and retaining structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Prepare design, budgets, estimates, drawings specifications and tender document for maintenance and improvement works.
  • Evaluate tender submissions, prepare comprehensive tender reports, and effectively administer contracts throughout project execution.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate consultants and contractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines. Provide guidance and supervision to subordinates, monitoring their performance and overseeing directly employed labor.
  • Provide design input to new development projects, aiming to minimize future maintenance costs and potential breakdowns. Responsible for the seamless takeover and maintenance of newly assigned buildings.
  • Act as a liaison with users and tenants, addressing their maintenance and improvement needs and requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Respond to and attend to emergency repair works promptly.

The Person:

  • MHKIE (Civil or Geotechnical Discipline), MICE, or equivalent
  • Minium 5 years’ experience in geotechnical maintenance, including hands-on involvement in managing maintenance projects
  • Sound knowledge of the Buildings Ordinance and professional maintenance practices and hands-on experience in computing.
  • Project management experience, including managing budgets, resources, and contracts.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop solutions for geotechnical maintenance challenges.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Good communication skills in Chinese and English and be capable of working independently.
